One of the more fun things to do is to contemplate completely fictious scenarios of things that will never happen. Like: what if your the only survivor of an apocalyptic war waged with biological weapons? What would you do to survive? Well, here is another scenario for you: Say zombies are popping up for real. How good are you’re chances to survive? Do you have the faintest clue what you’ll do and how you’ll survive? How long do you think you would survive? What would be your weapon of choice? What would you do if you were infected? Well, as it turns out there are many internet forums and websites and even books that cover this subject (well, really not a big surprise is it?). But for the sake of this blog (hell, I need to kill some time anyway) let’s explore this scenario a bit.
First I would say: learn to know your enemy. So make sure you know what type of zombie you’re dealing with. Second, you might want to read up on usefull zombie survival tips. After doing so and watching every hardcore zombie films (and I do mean hardcore: that includes all the Italian zombie crap too). Once you have done all that, you can read more by finishing the rest of my blog.
Ok, so you’re still here right? So what would I do then? Well there’s a few things to consider. First you would need weapons. I would say for close range (when you get cought by surprise), medium range and long range. For short range any kind of fire arm with enough stopping power to take a decent headshot would do. I would prefer either a trusty .357 magnum or a good shotgun with deer slugs in it. Also I would at least have a machete handy. For medium range any good machinegun (preferably AK-47 cause they are simple and durable) would do fine. For long range (just pickin’ them of one by one) I would love a .50 caliber sniperrifle. But what would really rock (also against large groups of zombies) would be a minigun! Just gimme the ol’ painless from Predator and I’ll be happy as a hog in mud.
