Wow, after some days tinkering around I think I finally did it: I migrated my webserver to a new server. I went from my old Pentium III to my trusty Ahtlon 1.33ghz. Posting this blog is the last test to see if it all worked! Ok, remember the movie Gremlins? Well a gremlin is also a “ghost in the machine”, a quirk or bug in the system. So I returned from Florida. I had a pretty weird journey back. When I left from Tallahassee I had these two drama queens sitting next to me in the plane. One of them was terrified of flying and having a nervous breakdown. So I think: hey, I hate flying too, but if you’re this terrified, take a damn bus or train! You know those annoying messages you get when a webpage is not found? It’s called a 404 error. As always when technicians are involved, you get useless technical information. I mean: who actually reads it anyway? So this guy figured he had to make some funny version of a 404 error page. And it looks something like this: HTTP 404 P0RN Not Found. Haha…

Wow, it’s been a stressfull period and I’m looking very much forward to my 3-week vacation! I leave this saturday (18th) and won’t start work again until Jan. 10th! Ok, I ran to the store today and in some kind of stupid moment of weakness I bought Half-Life 2. I got home, popped in the DVD (yeah, this baby steals some 5gig harddisk space from you) and started to play… NOT! As it turns out this f** game is attached to some a**hole program called “Steam”. Last week was one of those uncommon weeks: lot’s of problems going on in Holland and some personal stuff as well. For starters we had a huge incident related to terrorism. Some cops tried to raid a house in The Hague were some people lived that were suspected terrorists. Unfortunately for them these guys were prepared and the walked into a booby-trap. This has not been a particularly good week. As always with events that happen far away, you don’t feel that affected. Things only get a meaning once it gets too close for comfort.
