Happy 2005 to y’all! Another new year lies ahead of us. I can’t believe how fast time seems to go by. In remember when I was young (yeah, I know; that was a long time ago) that I was fantasizing what it would be like when I was 20, 30 or 40. Now: in 2 years (2007) I will be 40(!) and the world is a bit different from what I expected.
I always figured that around 2007 we would live in space half the time and all go to work in our mini-airplanes. I figured that robots (like in I, Robot) would be around to do our dirty work and that by then we would also have a cure for cancer, world peace and all that. But the world today is much different from those chilhood fantasies.
Instead 2005 pretty much started with a disaster (the tsunami in Asia) and the world is still at war.
Oh well. Lets see if 2005 brings us more of the future then 2004!
