Good things never last forever. It’s an old saying and yes it’s true. In fact: if it’s good it should not last too long because even good things get kinda dull after a time. I mean: who would like to eat steak every day?
I’m sure a lot of people – or should I say: women – in Holland shed a tear when they watched the last episode of Sex in the City tonight. And I am not ashamed to admit it: even I did. Even though I did have this “love-hate” thing with the series. Probably because I am a man. And there is something really annoying about women complaining about men and about and they’re inability to have a lasting, meaningful relationship.
People that try to hard to find love will never find it – or at least that’s my humble opinion. I must say they did a few compelling episodes. I can even state that the last two episodes “An American Girl in Paris” (1 & 2) are top notch. A lot of symbolism in it and a lot of moments of truth.
But I did get really tired of the stereotypical way they portrayed some people. For some dumb reason Americans always have gay men in the series that are always womens best friend and all foreigners (in these last episodes French) are such complete nitwits.
I think it would be good character test to ask women about their favorite character. Who do they relate the most to? Carrie? Charlotte? Miranda or Samantha? I guess that must have been the success of the series: women relating to a character.
I’m a hundred percent sure there will be a lot of women that will have a hard time now they have to miss they’re favorite series. I knew I did once the X-Files turned into a bad soap.
Oh well, I guess there are always the reruns.
