Mentos and Coke

Sometimes you wonder how people find out stuff. Like: who would try to see what happens when they combine Mentos candy with Coke? And more mind boggling: why? I confess I never knew about the whole Mentos & Coke thing, until a couple of weeks ago when my collegue told me about it and showed me a video.
