Finally the US supreme court wakes up and stands up against Bush: the US Supreme Court has ruled that the Bush administration does not have the authority to try terrorism suspects by military tribunal. The bad news is that the ruling does not address detention of terror suspects in general. Currently about 460 inmates, mostly without charge, whom the US suspects of links to al-Qaeda or the Taleban are held at Guantanamo Bay. The ruling is seen as a major blow to President George W Bush. Dumb and Dumber There we have it: our Dutch government is resigning after losing the support of one of its coalition partners, D’66. D’66 pulled its support because Verdonk, known as “Iron Rita” for her tough stance on immigration issues, refused to resign over her treatment of Hirsi Ali. Ok, that was it. Game, set and match. We just got f**** over by the Portugese in the weirdest match of the whole World Soccer Championship so far. My God what a historic match! Another Soccer D-Day today: our national soccer team has to play against Portugal. If we win whe are through to yet another round of finals (1/8th).
