Ok, I guess you’re familiar with the CBS Late Night Show with David Letterman? Sometimes he has a segment in his show called: “Stupid Human & Pet Tricks” (I think it was called just “Stupid pet tricks” before, but I guess he thought it was degrading to the animals). Well, I have 2 cats here in my appartment, and one of them (see photo) is probably so bored out of his mind (they never get out) that he thinks he’s a dog. So what does he do? He grabs the tie-wrap of a plastic bag (metal) and runs around with it, drops it in front of me to get my attention and then fetches it like a dog when I throw it away. Now, the funny think is: he’s not the first cat I have had that does this. Back in the mid-70’s and early 80’s we had 2 cats and one of them was a red and white cat. He’d like to play fetch too. Especially with this tiny little rubber toy (a mini Pink Panther). Now before you run out and call Letterman: this is not uncommon behaviour. Actually cats like to fetch.
