Just to let you know: I have another gadget in my hands. It’s a brand new T-Mobile MDA Compact, also known as HTC “Magician”. It’s a Windows Mobile 2003 powered smartphone that really is well build and that has all the features (and software) that I like. I also own a Sony Ericsson P800, but it is now 2 years old and it’s really getting outdated (there has been a P900 and a P910a since then). Also I do not like the Symbian OS to much and it is rather slow compared with the 400+ Mhz XCPU that the MDA […]
Server Migration complete (aka Gremlins 2)
Wow, after some days tinkering around I think I finally did it: I migrated my webserver to a new server. I went from my old Pentium III to my trusty Ahtlon 1.33ghz. Posting this blog is the last test to see if it all worked! So if you can read this (ahum), then it works 🙂 As I posted before I had some weird shit going on with my server and also I was not happy with the performance I had from that machine. Well I should have enough horsepower now to have a more satisfying performance. And NO MORE […]
Gremlins?
Ok, remember the movie Gremlins? Well a gremlin is also a “ghost in the machine”, a quirk or bug in the system. So when computers are doing weird stuff, tech guys would say “there is a gremlin in the system”. Well, I hope I just fixed a gremlin in my system (webserver). What’s the case? Well, for some weird reason my webserver kept rebooting or shutting down on itself. Now, my first thought was: I’ve been hacked and some guy whose pubic hair hasn’t started to grow yet finds my PC a interesting target for whatever obscure reason. And there […]
Jetlag, PC’s and more
So I returned from Florida. I had a pretty weird journey back. When I left from Tallahassee I had these two drama queens sitting next to me in the plane. One of them was terrified of flying and having a nervous breakdown. So I think: hey, I hate flying too, but if you’re this terrified, take a damn bus or train! Now, the second half of my journey started of bizarre too. Right after take-off this chick sitting behind me exploded in a wild vomit splash-like way. Jezus! No warning there! Right during take-off. A second I thought someone just […]
HTTP 404 P0RN Not Found
You know those annoying messages you get when a webpage is not found? It’s called a 404 error. As always when technicians are involved, you get useless technical information. I mean: who actually reads it anyway? So this guy figured he had to make some funny version of a 404 error page. And it looks something like this: HTTP 404 P0RN Not Found. Haha…
Happy 2005 & all that…
Happy 2005 to y’all! Another new year lies ahead of us. I can’t believe how fast time seems to go by. In remember when I was young (yeah, I know; that was a long time ago) that I was fantasizing what it would be like when I was 20, 30 or 40. Now: in 2 years (2007) I will be 40(!) and the world is a bit different from what I expected. I always figured that around 2007 we would live in space half the time and all go to work in our mini-airplanes. I figured that robots (like in […]
