Florida: There and back

Once again my vacation is over. A lot of stuff happened when I was in Florida this time. Problems with my flight on the way there, problems on the way back. Hurt my back when I was there. Got bit by mosquitos again. Visited St. Augustine, got hit by the outer parts of hurricane Dennis. In short: I can’t say I was bored or anything. If anything else I was a bit frustrated. This time I flew with KLM (the Dutch company that has been in business since the 1920’s) because I had so many Airmiles left. The flight was […]

Tourist traps, weather quirks and backpains!

My girl and I just got back yesterday form a 4 day trip to St. Augustine, the oldest city in the US. Nice town, not too big and some funny things to do there, like the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum. Very funny! Not so funny is the fact that I hurt my back somehow and that the weather was kinda bad…Monday morning we started packing for the trip and somehow when I got out of bed and bend over to grab my ba, my lower back hurt literally like someone stabbed a knife in it! Jeezz! For a […]

Florida here I come!

Oh yeah: it’s that time of the year again: time to visit my honey in Florida! As of tomorrow I’m on a three week holiday to Florida again! Good thing, cause I am way stressed over my work and I miss my honey!!! It’s hard if you don’t see each other that much! We’re gonna have a good time, that’s for sure 😉 Blog you later!

Europe: The Dutch Way!

Now here is a sign for you prime minister Balkenende: 61,6% of the Dutch voted against the EU constitution. Only 38,4% voted for it. 62,8% of the Dutch went out and voted. Thats not just a small sample, its huge! Maybe Balkenende (aka “harry Potter” ) finally takes this signal serious. We DO NOT want to be part of an Europe were only the biggest countries rule!

Thank God for the French :-)

Great! The French are coming to help us on this stupid European constitution thing! They voted no! Now its our turn to get things going on June 1st! Hurray for the French (we love to hate them…)

Why I vote NO to the European Constitution

On June 1st the Dutch are asked by means of a referendum if they want to accept the European Constitution or not. The French are actually voting for this today, and it seems it will be a close call: a small majority will vote “no” (or so they predict). Well, I am going to vote “no”. The European constitution is a bad idea. As it seems, about 51% of the Dutch that are going to vote, are against a European constitution. About 29% is for a European constitution, and about 16% doesn’t know what to vote. Among Webloggers (aka Bloggers), […]

Stupid computers

It is amazing! Have you ever noticed how stupid computers actually are? I have been working with computers since 1988 when I bought my first AT 12Mhz IBM-compatible PC, with DOS 3.1. The same year I started working with an Apple. A lot has changed since then, but one thing remains the same: the way computers interact with dumb pop-ups and totally unusefull “information”. Nowadays I work on both a PC and a Mac. And yes, on both computers I run Microsoft software. And really: it’s amazing: in the last 19 (!) years it seems Microsoft still hasn’t been able […]

Rest in Peace Terri Schiavo

Terri Schiavo, 41 died today at 09:05am in Florida. Mrs Schiavo’s feeding tube was removed on 18 March in accordance with a ruling by a Florida appeals court after a protracted battle which included an intervention by state Governor Jeb Bush. She died 13 days later despite a number of last-ditch efforts by her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, to have her feeding tube re-inserted. But we will be sure that with her death the case does not end here, at least not for those directly involved. As time was running out for the Schindlers, President George W Bush signed […]
