Yup, it’s that time of the year again: time to plan my Xmas trip to Carrie & Zach. I’m looking for some cheap flights to Tallahassee, and hopefully I can use some of my well-earned Delta SkyMiles to either upgrade to business class, or to fly cheaper.
I wrote an e-mail to Delta because they did not add my SkyMiles yet from July this year. They added them almost the next day. But then I tried to see if I can redeem them for a flight, and their Website said they currently do not support non-us flights (which sucks).
Anyway: so far it looks like I’m flying out around December 18th or so and I’ll return around the 2nd of Jan 2005.
iLounge: MP3 check increased stability
The last few days I spend checking the integrity of my complete MP3 Lounge collection. For some reason my iLounge radio station tripped over some MP3’s giving me a lot of “invalid floating point error” messages. Usually it would not recover from such an error and I would be forced to restart the audiostream.
But after checking some +6500 files (which took about 3 days) it seems the audiostream is a lot more stable (knock on wood). Apparently some +200 files suffered from minor corruptions that you usually don’t hear. But once you start streaming your audio, its needs to be downsampled on the fly to 96kbps at 44mHz from whatever bitrate the file is – and mine are somewhere between 320kbps to 128kbps. That is probably the reason I had so many hangups.
For those that are interested: I used Ashampoo MP3 AudioCenter to check all the files. It was relatively hassle free and easy. So now I make a policy to check every MP3 first before adding it to my playlist 😉
Anyway: there is no excuse not to listen right now! 😉
