Weird stuff going on in the land of computers: suddenly my video card (a MSI Geforce FX5600 256mb) is working again. And in others news: I’m getting a so-called “track-back” spammer on my Bloggers@large.

About a week ago, I wrote about the problems I had with my video card after the fan on it had died. I replaced it, but for some reason I still got a garbled picture in my games (not in 2D desktop applications). So I kind of prepared for cashing out another 200 Euros to buy myself a new video card.

Until last Wednesday when, for whatever reason, I tried it again. Low and behold: my video card seemed to have healed itself? I have worked with computers for years now, and they should be simply hard and software, but for some reason each month I learn something new. Maybe that’s why I love computers and the Internet so much. Talking of this: I had some nice experience last night with my brother-in-laws PC. I will post a blog on that soon. It involved stupid stuff with a Pioneer 107D DVD burner and some MEDION firmware. Boy some computer manufacturers really are dumb!

Sp@m!

In other news: when I checked my Gmail today I suddenly had a lot of comments on my Blog (the one you’re reading right now). As it turned out it was all spam! Some bozo has found out how to use the so called “trackback” option in my Serendipity blog (that’s my local alternative to Blogger; don’t get confused, they are the same).

So a quick search on Google revealed I’m not the only one. Lucky me: I always make sure I have to approve the comments, so the bastards had a no go with me. The spam was all for some dumb online casino stuff.
