It’s the week of controversy here in Holland. For starters on Tuesday Sony announced it has pulled a Dutch billboard advertising campaign for the new white version of its PlayStation Portable video game player which (non-Dutch) critics dubbed “racist”. Also this week, a Dutch McDonalds franchise decided to removed their urinals shaped as a mouth (see picture) after some hypocritical asshole American complained about them at McDonalds headquarters in the US. Seriously people: what is wrong with this picture? In a statement Sony said: “We recognize that the subject matter of one specific image may have caused concern in some countries not directly affected by the advertising. As a result, we have now withdrawn the campaign.” Excuse me? Since when do foreigners decide what bilboards or urinals we have in OUR OWN friggin’ country? When I wrote earlier this week about this nonsense, I could not foresee how big the “political correct” Internet lobby has become. It also reminds me of the bullshit hype that went on with that out of control situation with those cartoons of prophet Muhammed. Speaking of political correct and Muhammed: the creators of “South Park” talked on Comedy Central yesterday about removing an episode about Scientology and Tom Cruise from the regular repeat schedule and also for “blanking out the image of Muhammad” during another episode because of “fear of being controversial”.
I swear; everyone is turning into a bunch of spineless jellyfish. And the Americans are in forefront off course. Even Christmas isn’t safe anymore. Well, I have a message to you all of you political correct bunch of righ-wing hypocrits: FUCK OFF!
