Don’t you hate it when you just walked into your home after a long day and the phone rings and it’s one of those pesky telemarketers trying to sell you something? Usually I recognize them from a mile away because 99 out of a 100 times they do not show up on my caller-ID. In case I do pick-up accidentally, I just act like I can’t here them: “Hello?!, Hello!? Who is this? I can’t hear you, I’m hanging up now”. That always works and it is also hilarious to hear the person on the other end of the phone shouting back at you: “Hello? Can you hear me now?”. But as they say: don’t get mad, get even. And now you can! Cause some genius came up with the telemarketer counterscript. Essentially when a telemarketer calls you and bugs you, they have 90% of what they need to ask/say in front of them on a computerscreen. This is called a script. It usually leaves very little room for improvisations. And that is where we are going to tip the scales in our favor.
Some genius has thought up the perfect way to fight back the pesky telemarketeers. With an ingenious “counterscript” we can fight back and we can get even!. It is as briljant as it is simple.
