Suddenly, after 3 weeks of recordbreaking rainfall, it’s warm and sunny again. A sudden Indian Summer. But who’s feeling under the weather? Right, me, myself and I. It started yesterday morning, shortly after I got to work. My throat started hurting and my head was pounding. For me clear signs of a outbreak of flu.

My girlfriend, supportive as she is, started stating on the phone: “Well honey, it seems that you get sick a lot like that, maybe there is something else wrong?”. Well the reality of it is, that the last time I was really sick, is more than 6 months ago and before that even 1 1/2 year: I rarely mis work. Yeah, sure, I do feel not so good sometimes, but I would not count that as being sick. In my book you’re sick if you cant work.

Last night I started drinking some hot cofee and took a 600mg Ibuprofen tablet that I flushed down with some red wine: nothing better at killing germs than alchohol I suppose 😉 Hoping for some relief I turned in at 10pm.

However, this morning I woke up at 7am with all my muscles hurting like they are supposed to do when your body is raging with white bloodcells attacking germs. To top things off, some construction work started right under my window at the back of my appartement. So no chance there of relaxing and getting up in peace and quiet.

Oh well, there is just one thing that I rather like about the situation: the kind of dreams I always get when I have a slight fever. Usually I forget every dream and can’t remember a thing – unless I write something down.

So this morning my mind must have connected again in some weird, random feverish way and made me dream of a niece of mine that I haven’t seen since she was 5 years old or so. No explanation for that whatever… It just made me wonder: how is she doing? She must be like 25 or so by now.

Let’s hope I feel better tomorrow so I can enjoy the perfect weekend that’s supposed to come up.
