The Machete conspiracy

Four days ago I posted the new trailer for the new upcoming Robert Rodriguez movie called “Machete”. What looks like a harmless all action packed movie, is actually a call to racial violence and uprising by the Mexican population in the state of Arizona. The movie is going to cause widespread violence and a race war! Yeah right. And Santa Claus really exists…. Who comes up with this shit? Enter the twisted and paranoid world of Alex Jones, maker of movies such as “911: Road to Tyranny“, “Martial Law 9-11: Rise of the Police State” and “Fall of the Republic: […]

AC/DC vs Iron Man 2

This summer May, Iron Man 2 is coming out. I loved the first one and the second one looks like a killer action movie too. Especially because I got turned of by that wimp of a Peter Parker in the Spiderman movies. The Australian rock band AC/DC are doing some of the soundtrack for Iron Man 2 and by way of promotion, they gave this really cool light show in England. Well, actually more of a “projection show”. Aw, you’ll just have to watch the awesome video below. Amazing what you can do with technology and a creative mind. I […]

2012 a distaster (of a) movie

I just saw the new Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow) movie “2012” and I just couldn’t resist blogging about it. So what do I have to say about it? Well, if you are into special effects, this is your movie. In fact it is the mother load of all special effects. Ninety nine point nine  percent of the movie is about special effects. Should you expect something else from a movie that is about the end of the world? I guess not.  Now, there have been many movies – also by Roland Emmerich – that deal with some catastrophe that […]

Movie pastime

One of my favorite pastime activities is watching movies. Granted, I hardly go to the movie theater anymore. In this day and age I get my stuff “on-demand” (read: usenet). Now, one of my favorite activities besides watching movies, is watching the trailers for movies. I think it is fun and helps build the anticipation. The trick to a good trailer is obviously to build the anticipation and make you go “I really want to go see that movie”. If I think of good trailers from the last years/decades (yeah, I’m over 40). Then a few pop into my mind as really […]

Terminator Salvation (for the franchise?)

I remember it like yesterday. It was 1984 and I was 17. I was skipping class to go see this movie called “The Terminator” with this guy called Arnold Schwarzenegger, who’s two previous movies – Conan the Barbarian (’82) and Conan the Destroyer (’84) – I had seen as well. So, me and this friend of mine, head out to the theather in Amsterdam, got us some popcorn and sat back to enjoy the ride. And what a ride it was. The storyline was provocative and intelligent. The action was non-stop. The characters where cool. What else would one want? Afterwards […]
