For sale: $2 million clunker

A lot of times when I watch a video on YouTube I think to myself: “what are the odds of something like this (whatever it is I am watching) happening and it’s caught on tape?” It happened today when my attention was drawn to the following movie(s). If this doesn’t fall into the category of epic fails, I wonder what does? Last month, on November 11th to be exact, this guy was driving his priceless  Bugatti Veyron (one of  the 15 believed to be sold in the USA) down the I45 near Galveston (Texas). Then, according to the owner,  “a low-flying pelican” […]

Stig stunt

What a phenomenal stunt by my favorite TV-show – ever – about cars: Top Gear. This Sunday they started their 13th season with a great publicity stunt. They finally ‘revealed’ who the infamous “Stig” is. After driving a Ferrari FXX supercar around the track in the best time ever (1.10.7), the Stig came into the studio and took of his white helmet,  showing the world his face for the first time. And no – it wasn’t Susan Boyle. It was Michael Schumachers face. But before you run out the house and start shouting “I see dumb people” because you “knew it […]

Queen’s Day will never be the same

Queen’s Day 2009 has ended in a tragedy. At 11:50am some crazy person drove a Suzuki Swift straight into the crowd when he tried to ram the bus carrying the royal family and Queen Beatrix in it. So far it seems that 14 people have been wounded and 1-4 people possibly died. The driver of the car has survived the crash and has been taken from wreck to be questioned by police. A witness has declared that the car was following the trail of the bus, so it seems it was no accident. News is sketchy at the moment, but this is […]

Good Friday

I have to admit it: I always wanted to buy myself a big US car (in particular the Lincoln Continental Mark V), but driving home from work today in my friends convertible (a Mazda MX5 or ‘Miata’ as it’s known in the US) is making me rethink this. I was impressed with how smooth a ride it is. You can clearly hear us talking and even the radio playing in the background. Can’t imagine a more relaxed way to travel home: blue skies, sunny and a nice warm Friday afternoon.
