Going green
In case you’re wondering about the blog title: don’t worry, I have not turned into some eco-friendly, sandal wearing tree-hugger. No, I’m referring to something I ordered online this weekend: a Viridian 5XL tactical green laser/light sight. It is going to be a nice add-on for my H&K P30L that I bought about a month ago. For all purpose and intent it’s not practical in any way. In Holland you can’t own a gun for self-defense (unlike the US), so you can only use it at the range. And – maybe apart from action-shooting – there are no real competitions […]
Top ten reasons you must have prototype
I have been playing this quite some hours now. This stuff is seriously addictive 🙂
Stig stunt
What a phenomenal stunt by my favorite TV-show – ever –Â about cars: Top Gear. This Sunday they started their 13th season with a great publicity stunt. They finally ‘revealed’ who the infamous “Stig” is. After driving a Ferrari FXX supercar around the track in the best time ever (1.10.7), the Stig came into the studio and took of his white helmet, Â showing the world his face for the first time. And no – it wasn’t Susan Boyle. It was Michael Schumachers face. But before you run out the house and start shouting “I see dumb people” because you “knew it […]
Do the Google Wave
Forget about Bing. Do the Google Wave! While the evil forces of steve Ballmer were introducing their feeble attempt to regain control over the Internet with their search engine ‘answer machine’ Bling Bing, Google had their own party. While Steve was trying to do his best to convince the press why Bing will be important, Google VP of Engineering was rocking with his own keynote speech. The same developers that gave us Google Maps (it’s just brilliant), came up with a new technology called “Wave”. And yes, as with all Google products, its going to be available for everyone and there will […]
Terminator Salvation (for the franchise?)
I remember it like yesterday. It was 1984 and I was 17. I was skipping class to go see this movie called “The Terminator” with this guy called Arnold Schwarzenegger, who’s two previous movies – Conan the Barbarian (’82) and Conan the Destroyer (’84) – I had seen as well. So, me and this friend of mine, head out to the theather in Amsterdam, got us some popcorn and sat back to enjoy the ride. And what a ride it was. The storyline was provocative and intelligent. The action was non-stop. The characters where cool. What else would one want? Afterwards […]
Suddenly Susan
It’s one of my favorite lines from The Devil’s Advocate, when John Milton (played superbly by Al Pacino) explains his success to Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves):  “Don’t get too cocky my boy. No matter how good you are don’t ever let them see you coming. That’s the gaffe my friend. You gotta keep yourself small. Innocuous. Be the little guy. You know, the nerd… the leper… shit-kickin’ surfer. Look at me.  Underestimated from day one. You’d never think I was a master of the universe, now would ya?” Well, that’s what happend when 47 year old Susan Boyle performed on Britain’s Got […]
Slip’n’slide
Ok, this could have easily been a video for the “Jackass” department, but I guess it’s kinda cool 😉
