I hear you think: “why is this guy so obsessed with his car?”. Well, it’s not so much the car I obsess about, it’s more or less the service – or better said: the lack of service – that surrounds it.
So last week I had some stuff fixed. The word “some” sums it up because not all of the problems got solved even though my garage said they did. In particular my A/C still is acting up. So now I have to go to the garage on monday morning again. And I’m pretty sure that they will refer me to their garage in Weesp because they can’t fix the problem themselves (they are not yet certified to work on A/C’s).
It is just annoying that one has to spend so much time on shit other people should solve for you anyway!

While were on the subject of cars anyway; my girlfriend – or rather her son – has some car trouble of his own. Carrie bought him a ’92 Toyota Camry (good cars!) and now his waterpump broke down (or rather; came loose). So they face a $450 repair. The car was only $850 so what does one do? Repairs so far added up to an amount higher than the value of the car. On the other hand: one does not buy another car for that money.
Which reminds me of my first car: it was a ’78 Toyota Starlet and I bought that for ƒ250 (approx $125). After a year and a half it needed new tires, new shocks, brakes and some other stuff. So that was way more than I paid for it. So I just had it hauled of.
Oh well. Guess its worth taking a gamble and having this one fixed.
