While half of Florida is peparing for Ivan the Terrible to strike, I had my own power outage today. When I got home from work, I was groping in a dark hallway. One look into my study reveiled what I had noticed around 3pm today: no power.
After I switched my power back on with the flick of a switch, it became clear to me that it must have gone off right after 3pm or so. I was listening to my iLounge radio at my work, but suddenly the music stopped. I couldn’t connect anymore and now I know why. What caused it though, is beyond me.
Stormwatch
According to the predictions Ivan is going to hit Florida later this week. This time it’s the Panhandle thats going to suffer the wrath of mother nature. Unfortunately, depending on what path exactly it’s going to choose, it’s either bound to go straight over Carrie’s house or it’s going to hit somewhere around Pensacola.
For some reason I’m more worried this time then before. For instance, Carrie was in Oklahoma City in ’98 when that F4 tornado struck and left the biggest mayhem in the history of Oklahoma City. That thing passed her by a couple of miles. This time its a different thing. This storm is vicious.
For now I’m just keeping my eye on the NOAA webpages and keeping a line open for my baby to call.
