Done it again

What can I say; Apple pulled it off once more: a flawless Apple Macworld event. Jobs was really going at it again this time (see the streaming webcast here – quicktime needed). Sixty percent of his show was aimed at the new versions of existing Apple software, in particular iLife. Once again Apple has added ton’s of new features, most notable podcasting capabilities for all applications: iPhoto, iVideo and even Garageband can be used. Or just simply put: your life…. Digital. And now also on Intel.

I’m quite sure Jobs has many reasons to be very pleased with his company. Not only are sales going through the roof, the company hasn’t generated such publicity in years (they probably only got more exposure when things were going bad). Also the introduction of the Macbook Pro – the first Apple ever to run on an Intel processor – about 6 months ahead of their announced schedule is a big milestone.

It definately marks the beginning of a new era for Apple. Too bad they didn’t decided to team up with AMD. But I guess Steve had his reasons for this: he always picks his friends (and enemies) with care.

As always there was a lot of speculation going on about what “his Steveness” would announce this time. A lot of people were guessing that Apple was going to announce they would come with a TiVo or a Media Center like multimedia solution for the living room, but they did not. I guess he saves that for next time.

One thing is sure: it must feel good to be a winner.
