"Unboxing" usually means that I'm unpacking some new gadget (which I also did this week, but more about that later), but in this case I've been unpacking my stuff in my new home. For the last week I have been living in out of a box, but today my brother-in-law helped me and put my wardrobe closets together. So the last few hours I have been re-arranging my clothes and what have you. Anyway, my bedroom looks a lot better now. I still have load of D.I.Y. stuff to do, but all in all I hope I have more time now to play a bit with my new toy: a T-Mobile MDA Vario IV (which is essentially a branded HTC Touch Pro).

Ok boys & girls; I moved into my new home this weekend. Yesterday I rented a big truck and with the help of my sister and brother-in-law and long time friend Sander, we managed to squeeze everything into my new home. We only drove up & down 2 times, and one extra time to drop-off the fridge and microwave that I no longer need.

Now, I still have a few big jobs ahead still: including cleaning my old home. It's gonna be a bitch, but hey, I have no choice and need to finish up asap. Anyway: I'm still tired and need to take a shower badly.

Jeezz Louise. Working on my new home and trying to manage all the logistics and being extremely busy at my work, is not a good combination. I'm tired as hell. But thanks to the efforts of my sister and my brother-in-law I am booking progress. There is no way in Hell that I could have done this without them, so I'm trying to come up with some nice present for them. Anyway: the final countdown is exactly 14 days from today: on Friday Oct. 31st I need to be gone from my old appartment and moved in to my new one. A few challenges are left: putting in the floor (which arrived yesterday), painting/cleaning the ground floor and then moving in. Upstairs is as good as done (besides the floor, which I hope to finish this weekend).

I need a serious vacation after I move in; but that won't happen for a while :-(

Whoa. My legs are hurting from walking up & down the stairs and balancing the wallpaper steamer. I've spend the last three days trying to peel of wallpaper that the previous owners of the apartment painted over. Without that paint it wouldn't be that hard I guess, but because of it, some walls take forever to clean. Anyway: together with some help from my sister and brother-in-law I was able to finish the upstairs of my apartment and I will try to start on the hallway today (both upstairs and downstairs. Then the living room will be next. Yup I will need all the time I get this time. But all the work will pay of for sure: it will last a life time.

Today was the first day that I was able to do some serious work on my new home, together with my brother-in-law who is a real handy man (I have to left hands when it comes to stuff like this). We are steaming of all the ugly looking wallpaper and then painting it. It's hard work - especially because all I normally do is push my mouse around a desk. It took us all day to more or less finish the smallest bedroom. I hope we can do a lot tomorrow and Sunday, so I can keep working next week when I have the week off. I'm already very tired after one day and I am going to be bed now.

In between working on my new home - my internet connection is obviously working - I came across a sweet unboxing video for the new Samsung i900 smartphone. All other unboxing video's are redundant now ;-)

Whoa, I thought that my last blog for a while, was going to be the one I wrote this Sunday. But given the extraordinary circumstances it's hard not to comment on what's going on. It's a financial Pearl Harbour or better yet: a 9/11. Going down, going down! Abandon ship! Panic in the disco! Red alert! Everyone brace for impact! Ok. Now what? Well, I guess it's time to take a deep breath and sit still: just like you would when you get a close shave with a nasty razor. If you are a real maverick I would suggest now is a good time to buy a shitload of stock for almost no money. Let's face it: trading stock is all about timing. Everyone is saying that the Republicans are messing up the world economy by not approving the bailout. But it was a bad plan in the first place. Anyway: an interesting view on things comes from filmmaker Michael More (read on for that).
