Wow, some important news on the personal front for me this week: I bought a home in Almere. To be honest I haven't bought it 'officially' yet, because all the paperwork and finances still have to be arranged, but if all goes well that should be done within the next 2 months. I bought what is called a "maisonette" (basically an apartment in a block that is spread over more than one floor, with its own internal staircase), that's a nice 110 square meters (approx. 1.184 square feet). As it is at the ground floor it comes with a small yard as well (I'm not much of a gardener but it's appealing that I can sit outside in the summer). All in all it a sweet three bedroom apartment, close to a grocery store (across the street) and - also important - close to the highway so I can get to work quickly.

My front door is actually inside the building and features an indoor garden. It is a nice, quiet area. And most people living in the complex called "De Muzen" (The Muses) are over 50 -or so I guess. All in all it's just my taste and I think I'll be happy living there. So now all the paperwork starts and I'll have to dig into all the financial details and such. Not the most inspiring thing to do, but hopefully I only have to do it once in a long time.
